Summer 2008
SNK machining centre installation nearing completion at Harper and Simmons. The pressure sensitive floor mats surrounding the pallet changer are being integrated into the control. Tool changing and pallet changing trials are complete.

Spring 2008
The latest investment news at Harper and Simmons. We are in the process of installing an SNK RB2NM 5 face machining centre. One of only 9 in the UK, it has a machining envelope of 2.75m x 2.000m x 1.500m. With 40 tool changer and twin auto pallet changing, spindle up time can be optimised with full lights out machining capability. A 300mm diameter quill and full control over the gantry bridge positioning ensures a very rigid setup. Combining this with excellent positional accuracy, we have the facility to produce high quality, accurate forming die faces in relation to pillars and bushes. The 5-sided facility allows easy machining of side features such as clamping slots, lifting holes and guide pads.
