Investment has continued at Harper and Simmons with the installation of a Colchester CNC Lathe.

Colchester Combi K2 CNC Lathe

This is primarily used for turning hardened tool steel at about 62–64 HrC. This gives far improved accuracy for producing round draw tools and forming dies, as shapes can be finalised after hardening.
